2020 Robert Moore Award

News | City of West Linn

At the meeting Monday night, City Council presented the 2020 Robert Moore to Phil Rees, who has spent the past nine years involved with the West Linn Food Pantry. The food pantry has played a vital role in our community since it was formed in 2007, however this past year the need for food assistance in our community has grown exponentially.

In addition to volunteering his time running the Food Pantry, Mr. Rees, along with his wife Kathy, created the “Home Plate” program which provides bags of snacks, food, and personal hygiene products to school age children who may need them over long weekends or holiday breaks. According to Kent N., who nominated Mr. Rees for this award, “Phil is always helping our community and is happy to do so.”

Following the award presentation, Mr. Rees shared “through the pantry I have met so many wonderful people who share the desire to donate their time to the community. The experience for me has been eye opening, humbling, and has been a source of fulfillment and growth for me. Thank you for the award.”

Please join us in thanking Phil for his contribution to the City of West Linn, and congratulate him on being the recipient for the 2020 Robert Moore Award!
